Arik Air
After bankruptcy of former Nigeria Airways of the Lagos Arik Air came into existence on 3 April,2006 and its reconstruction work was started on June,14 2006. Initially Arik was given seven Bombardier aircrafts in October 2006 but sooner at the end of October 2006 the Arik started four passenger flights between Lagos and Abuja. It is memorable that the aircraft were used as passenger service. Flights were also sent to Calabar, Benin City and Enugu in November, 2006 and January,2007 respectively. Owner of the airlines was Ojemai Investments solely.
All the airlines were asked by the Govt. of Nigeria to re-capitalise or ground their services to ensure better services and 30 April,2007 was fixed as deadline. Arik Air remained successful to satisfied the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and after fulfilling the terms of re-capitalisation got the re-registration for operation. Going ahead the Arik Air was able to send flight to the United States after the permission of US Transportation Department on 4th April, 2008.
6th August 2010 witnessed the 5 millionth passenger who traveled by a flight between Johannesburg and Lagos. If we talk about the destinations of the Arik Air, famous destinations are Tobago , Amesterdom, London, Birmingham, Madrid in Europe, Atlanta, Miami, and Hoston in USA , Lagos, Nigeria, Abuja ,Port Harcourt, Owerri, Akure,Lbadan, Illorin , Makurdi, Warri, Benin,Enugu, Calabar, Kano, Yola, Mauduguri, Sokoto, and Kadun, Jos and Sierra Leone(Free Town).
Like Worlds other famous airlines Arik Air started its commercial flights also. For this purpose initially the company parted with Akwa Ibom Worldwide Aerodrome, about Okobo Uyo. Ariks! Such business area consists of Lagos and Abuja, Uyo. Akwa Ibom Worldwide Airodrom further ebabled Arik to operate commercialized flights officially on 23 September, 2009. According to Arik Air Managing Conductor,Mr.Jason Holt the announcement with regard to servicing to Lagos was a newfound milestone in Arik history. After taking start in September 2009 Akwa Ibom Body Politic Aerodrome is now first airline to operate scheduled flights to Aerodrome and it is considered gold time for the company.
Going forward to her goals the new schedule of the company about the commercial flights to Lagos, Abuja and Uyo would be a wonderful , its schedule would include all the days of week(Monday to Sunday). This statement has been issued by Mr.Suraj Sundaram, Arik Aair Chief commercial-grade Officer. He also stated that the new schedule of Akwa Ibom Nation Worldwide Airport would be an attractive one for the guests in Akwa Ibom while using the flights Margret Ekpo World wide Aerodrome Calabar. Arik Air considered this factor strictly that the Province of Nigeria is an industrial and petroleum producer.In the Lagos, Abuja and Uyo crusade oil industry work has a considerable interest for the foreigners.
It has been explained by the Gross Revenue Manager that Arik Air has 124 flights and at this time there are 22 aerodromes services in Nigeria, Lagos and Abuja. Arik Air flights travel also to six nations in West Africa and London, Johannesburg and different York JFK. Arik Air provides her passengers the facility of links Akwa Ibom national, regional and World-wide which no other company provides.
